How the local checker works
- Choose a PDF. Your browser reads it locally and selects a bounded sample of pages.
- Load one sampled page. Your browser renders that page and extracts text from the same page without sending the page or extracted text to Before You Retry or an AI service.
- Review up to three pages. Mark each one Matches closely, Mismatch found, or Can’t tell, then read the bounded local summary.
Why PDF copy-and-paste text can be blank, garbled, or out of order
A PDF page can look readable while its extracted text is missing, changed, garbled, or out of order. This checker puts one visible sampled page beside text extracted locally from that same page so you can compare them yourself.
- Visible words or numbers that are missing from extracted text
- Characters or values that appear changed in extracted text
- Text that appears garbled or in a different order from the visible page
What this spot check cannot prove
A matching sample does not prove that the whole PDF is accurate, complete, accessible, or ready for an AI tool. The checker does not test OCR quality, table structure, checkboxes, forms, reading order across the document, or what a remote AI platform received.
PDF processing begins only after you choose a file. Page renderings, extracted text, selected page numbers, and your classifications remain in browser memory and are not added to analytics by this tool.
